Another 3.11 story March 07, 2018 My friend came over for lunch yesterday (a week ago, actually)…which was leftover soup, not quite enough leftover chicken in wraps, and leftover brownies. I felt like a dud of a host considering the awesome food I’m served when I eat at my Japanese friends’ homes. But I digress. B went to sleep, and we went to the couch with our brownies (did I mention that I dropped hers on the floor? Yeah). I don’t know how the subject came up – I certainly didn’t bring it up – but she shared with me a little

I greeted them preparing to be polite, get their information, and make absolutely no promises of

Cinnamon Buns and Sadness February 07, 2018 Today (2/5) started entirely too early. Why did two obviously still tired boys decide to wake up at 530am (and not go back down)? R and B left for a Super Bowl party by train at 7am, and J and I played until his bus came at 850am. I then drove to Ishinomaki to watch my first football game of the season. (Not entirely true. I went for the food.) I arrived to a die-hard Eagles fan screaming over a touchdown and had a panic moment before I remembered that I was at a Super Bowl party (“Is everyone
